Adventurous Llama

So this week I was lucky enough to have a couple of days off (I had started to forget what they were), it was allocated in our timetables for directed self study to work on an assignment. I probably should have used this time for that exact thing, but I didn’t. Instead I have been here there and literally everywhere.

Starting with a trip to Piccadilly Theatre with Mummy Sue and Maggot to see The Jersey Boys! I couldn’t let it finish it’s run without going back to see it again. So I bought tickets a while ago in a mad moment and took Mummy Sue for an early Mother’s Day gift. Daddy Mark was also supposed to come as his birthday present but unfortunately he couldn’t make it at the last minute. So along came Maggot and we danced and sang our way through the show. I can’t explain how much I love this show. I could see it countless times and still want to go back next week. I was already a fan of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which I think helps a little bit, but there are so many popular songs that I had no idea they sang first. It’s incredible and the cast are simply amazing. Their voices are goosebump inducing and the whole production is wonderful. I’ve been singing ‘Walk like a man’ for three days. If they go on tour I’m going again, I don’t care!

You would think that would be enough excitement for one week, but oh no. Ambitiously Llama Supporter and I flew to Dublin. For the day. Another mad moment, I have many and I refuse to cut down. I was searching high and low for a birthday gift for him for ages and I don’t even know how I started looking at flights but I ended up there. And as I knew we had some days off coming up I thought it was  perfect timing. So we set the alarms for 3.30am and headed for the airport. Thankfully the weather was glorious for most of the day and we managed to walk nearly 10 miles round the sights of the city armed with our cameras. I still haven’t caught up on my sleep, maybe it’s my age. But it was so worth it. It’s a lovely city with so much to see and do. We managed to make it to Trinity College, Dublin Castle, the Ha’Penny bridge and everywhere in between! If you are ever in Dublin please check out the Beanhive Cafe. It’s run by the most wonderful, fun people and the food is amazing.  As usual I took a photo of pretty much everything so here are a few of my favourites!

After all that it’s no wonder I fell asleep on the flight home, even during the extreme turbulence. Despite it being a whirlwind tour of the city, I enjoyed every minute and would happily return to explore again and also to venture further to discover more of Ireland.

We returned to London to catch up with work (I finally got round to my neurology paper) and to relax! But we managed to find time to squeeze in a quick jaunt round Notting Hill to visit The Biscuiteers, before hot footing it to Chelsea and Belgravia, complete with a Peggy Porschen rest stop. All before meeting Llama Supporters family for dinner at Kings Cross.

*mentally prepare yourself for many adorable photos

*and relax

The fun didn’t stop there, on our return to Bristol for lectures, I had a long overdue dinner date with the wonderful Tooth Fairy at Las Iguanas. I neglected to take a photo as we had so much to catch up on and I was far too hungry to remember. But I can highly recommend both the vegetarian Burrito and Enchilada! All that social excitement has made me need to lay in a darkened room for at least a week. You’ll be pleased to know the next few weeks are going to be spent on uni work and preparing for revision to start over Easter. Much less exciting. But I’m sure I can still find something to write about and hound you to read!

Until then. Much love.
