Although I have been ridiculously quiet on here of late, my life at the moment is far from quiet. I am currently under 4 different hospitals and my new hobbies include collecting medical conditions and crying in public. Some nice things have happened too, but I have been struggling to enjoy these things as much as I would have with everything hanging over me.
For the last 2 years I have posted an end of year round up and update. So thought it would be a good idea again, if nothing else it might remind me that good things have happened this year. In 4 and a half weeks I should have a better idea of what is going on with my health. Then hopefully I can feel slightly more in control of my own life again. Well that’s the plan anyway.
January was for Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea, meeting up with friends, 30 days of yoga, discovering Pearl & Groove and seeing Matilda
February included going out for brunch with the Queen of Darkness, accidentally going to Ikea and redecorating the cottage. Valentine’s Day, of course. Llama Supporter’s Birthday… more guinea pig sewing. Exploring London. OSCE revision and the half way meal at Vet School.
March bought snow! Beautiful walks in the countryside and the beach with my Borrow My Doggy pals. I visited The Florist with my favourite Northerner for Lunch and Llama Supporter moved West.
April was jam packed with Easter break, dog walks, exploring more of West London, visiting the Queen of Darkness in Brum, more cake, barn painting and Dalloway Terrace for Maggot’s early Birthday. I also got back in the saddle after a break, quite literally, we went to see Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats again, I bought a car and I saw old friends and new at a wonderful reunion!
May bought with it revision, exams and lots of stress. But it was also the month of lots beach walks, gaining the cutest new housemate – Finlay and Wisteria hunting.
June signalled FREEDOM from 3rd Year! The start of Summer and being home. It also meant the start of many Vet placements over summer and being reunited with Llama Supporter after 6 weeks apart.
July was all about hot, hot, hot harvest, lots of cake, my birthday, saw the Jersey Boy again, surprise lambs and all round happiness.
August started with a hot evening hack in Richmond Park with Llama Supporter, my favourite Northerner came down for a London day trip, and I continued to eat ridiculous amounts of cake. We ventured to Kensington Palace, Cambridge, Dirt Quake, saw even more of West London and of course more placements. I also ended the month by holding a snake without passing out.
September kicked straight off with one of my favourite events – Burghley with Miss Hermes and it was the hottest ever. Then we all stepped back in time for Goodwood Revival and I didn’t want to leave the past. More cakes were consumed, dogs walked and we joined the English Heritage. Hazel & Az got married and we all danced the night away full of happiness. Then it was onto my last placement of 2018 which Llama Supporter and I celebrated by going to The Churchill Arms in Kensington. September then ended with the start of a new term, friend reunions and a trip to Glastonbury with Mrs Gosling.
October meant pumpkin picking, halloween decorating and a serious amount of adventuring. I went to see The Coral with my favourite Northerner, Paul Weller with Llama Supporter and then we went to Vermont for the wedding of two gorgeous people and I fell in love with Autumn for the first time.
November started with one of the best surprises – a trip to the New Forest and I cuddled all the donkeys. I went on dog walks with my Favourite Northerner and Miss USA, cuddled numerous cats and ate cake. We also went to Dalloway Terrace again, this time for an outstanding gluten free dinner. I saw Jersey Boys, again, with Mrs Gosling, and Llama Supporter and I explored some more English Heritage locations.
December is my favourite month, despite hating Winter. Christmas is by far my favourite time of year. Llama Supporter made sure it kicked off extremely well with Llama trekking for our 3rd year anniversary and then afternoon tea at The Shard! Cat cuddling and cake eating became more frequent before it was time to go home for Christmas. I sewed in secret for presents. Then dragged Llama Supporter to his 1st ever Olympia! Christmas arrived, we ate everything, played nearly every board game in the cupboard, danced and laughed. Now I don’t know what day it is or how much I weigh anymore.
So ignoring all the negatives, 2018 was pretty amazing. So the next time someone sees me crying, can you please give me a hug and remind me of all this. Thanks for being wonderful and all the love in 2018, it always means so much.
Much love
